Hi, I’m Zeina Haddad, creator of the food blog "Parsley Me This" and the author behind the "My mama knows best!" series.
The series is the fruit of a many-years effort to assemble my mother's recipes and translate them from Arabic. My Lebanese-born mother, currently in her mid 80's, is an outstanding cook and an expert in the traditional Lebanese cuisine. This project was born out of a desire to honor her and preserve her knowledge.
A collection of 67 authentic recipes, tested and proven, for main dishes of meats, poultry, eggs, and fish, as well as some of Lebanon's finest desserts.
All the recipes are broken down into step-by-step tutorials, and assigned their proper dietary classifications, such as vegan, vegetarian, low-carb, gluten free, egg free, and more.

Homemade Cooked Milk Cream (Ashta), no heavy cream added. Pudding or Filling — Tasty whichever way you eat it!

Lebanese Fish and Rice (Sayadieh) — If you haven't tried this dish you are missing out!

The famous Lebanese Maamoul — With walnut and pistachio filling.

Freekeh (Roasted Green Wheat) with Chicken — It doesn't get more Lebanese than this!

Pan-Fried Sardines on a Bed of Sautéed Vegetables — The Taste of the Mediterranean!

and more ...

My books contain 100% genuine, human recipes. They are completely AI-free. These dishes were written down with love long before algorithms existed, tested in real kitchens, and tasted by real families. When you cook from these books, you are getting the classic, traditional taste — just as it should be.
Yes, all the recipes are broken down into steps easy to follow, and are written in a clear and simple language.
The recipes are very clear, and if followed as they are, they will be guaranteed success. Notes are added as well when particular attention is required.
The recipes in the books are widely varied; many of them are vegan, or vegetarian, or siami (Lenten). Many others are provided, when possible, with suggestions on how to adjust them to a vegan/vegetarian/Lenten diet.
Mediterranean diet has been consistently rated as one of the healthiest diets. It uniquely benefits health by promoting heart health through healthy fats like olive oil and omega-3s, longevity by reducing the risk of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and certain cancers, and brain function by supporting cognitive health and mental well-being. The emphasis on plant-based foods, healthy fats, and whole grains provides antioxidants and fiber while reducing inflammation.
